Sherrill Milnes

Sherrill Milnes is internationally recognized as the leading American Verdi Baritone of his time and one of the most popular and electrifying performers before the public today. His remarkable voice, artistic integrity and commanding stage presence have made him a favourite for all audiences. Sherrill Milnes has appeared on the world’s foremost stages: the Royal Opera Covent Garden, New York Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Opéra national de Paris, Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, among others. For many years, Sherrill Milnes has devoted much of his time to teaching and providing support to the world’s emerging opera singers. He has worked extensively with young singers throughout his career, including giving master classes and more extensive training during his concert and opera tours. Mr. Milnes has received numerous honours throughout his distinguished career, among them seven honorary doctoral degrees. He is Commendatore of the Italian Republic and Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic.
