Lucas Porter was born in Nova Scotia and began his piano
studies at the age of six. He has performed in numerous
venues in Toronto, taking part in the Canadian Opera
Company’s “Homage to Chopin” and the “Prokofiev Concert
Series” at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing
Arts. He won the Notion’s “Realize Music Challenge”, an
international composing competition, receiving first
place in the 18 and under category for best Orchestral
Composition. The debut performance of the Port Williams
Overture was performed by the Nova Scotia Youth
Orchestra in 2008, at Denton Hall, Wolfville, Nova
Scotia.
