The Montreal International Musical Competition welcomes
the Orchestre M?ropolitain du Grand Montr?l
Montreal, Monday, March 19, 2007 ? Andr?Bourbeau, President of
the Montreal International Musical Competition, is proud to
announce that the Orchestre M?ropolitain du Grand Montr?l will
be the official orchestra for the 2007 Voice Competition.
Conducted by Daniel Lipton, the Orchestre M?ropolitain will
accompany the twelve singers chosen to advance to the final
round, which will be held on May 28, 29 and 30 in the Th?tre
Maisonneuve at Place des Arts and the laureates at the gala
concert, Friday June 1 at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des
Arts.

more information From May 22 to June 1, 2007, Montreal will
play host to the most gifted young opera talents the world has
to offer. Dedicated to voice, this sixth edition of the MIMC
will feature 35 young competitors from 11 countries in what
promises to be 10 days of pure musical magic! Organized in partnership with Jeunesses Musicales of Canada, the MIMC is composed of
three disciplines ? voice, violin and piano ? presented on a
rotating basis. The 2007 Voice Edition will be followed by the
Piano Edition in 2008, the Voice Edition in 2009 and the Violin
Edition in 2010. Competition officials reserve the right to
modify the order or choice of these disciplines.
