Corinne CHAPELLE

Born in the United States to French parents, Corinne Chapelle began her violin studies at the age of two-and-a-half. As an adolescent, she trained with Yehudi Menuhin before entering the Juilliard School of Music to pursue her musical studies with Pinchas Zukerman. She won first prizes at the Stulberg International String Competition, the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards and the Jascha Heifetz Violin Competition, and earned second prize at the Liana Isakadze International Violin Competition in 2003. She has given concerts in Europe, Asia and the United States, performing the Chinese premiere of Samuel Barber’s Concerto for Violin with the Shanghai Philharmonic. Corinne Chapelle has taken part in numerous festivals throughout Europe and the United States and has recorded under the Naxos, jpc and GuildMusic labels.
