Yi CHEN

Yi Chen began her early violin training at the age of four with her father and won prizes in various national music competitions over the next few years. In 1997, she entered China’s Central Music Conservatory in the class of Huang Xiaoshao, receiving third prize in the Conservatory’s Violin Competition that same year. In 1999, she won second prize at the Mido Concours sino-français. She also took part in the first International Concerto Competition in Japan, the Paganini Competition, and has performed numerous concerts and recitals in China. In 2005, Yi Chen pursued her musical training with Charles Avsharian at the Meadowmount School of Music, where she gave five critically-acclaimed concerts.
