Mayuko Kamio made her
orchestral debut at the age of 10 under the baton of
Charles Dutoit. The following year, she won the Yehudi
Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists
and had the opportunity to play with the Lille National
Orchestra conducted by Yehudi Menuhin. In 2004, she was
awarded Grand Prize at the David Oistrakh International
Competition and ranked first at the Monte-Carlo Violin
Masters Competition. She has been a guest soloist with
many orchestras, including the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic
Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the Boston
Pops Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic, under such
renowned conductors as Neeme Järvi, Vladimir Spivakov,
Kristjan Järvi, Thomas Dausgaard, Eliahu Inbal and Keith
Lockhart. Mayuko Kamio is currently studying with Zakhar
Bron in Zurich.
