Alexander PRUSHINSKIY

The son of musicians, Alexander Prushinskiy began studying piano and violin at the age of five. At the age of 10, he won first prize at the Young Violinists’ Competition of Siberia and the following year was awarded first prize at the Russian Competition for Young Violinists. When he was 12, he was invited to play five concertos with orchestra as part of a domestic and foreign tour. In 1997, he was awarded first prize at the Virtuosos of the 21st Century International Competition in Moscow and fourth prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition. The following year, he received a scholarship to study with Zakhar Bron. Alexander Prushinskiy is a co-founder of the Schnittke-Quartet and the Dvorak Piano Quartet and has recorded with these ensembles under the Sony Classics label.
