The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) is the CMIM’s official orchestra. It accompanies the competitors during the final round and the winners during the Gala concert at the Maison symphonique de Montréal.
Since its founding in 1934, the OSM has distinguished itself as a leader in the orchestral life of Québec and Canada and as a cultural ambassador of the highest order. Under Maestro Kent Nagano, music director since 2006, the Orchestra has distinguished itself with the presentation of programming that is both innovative and a source of common bond. The excellence of the OSM has been demonstrated in the course of over 40 national and international tours and in the realization of more than 100 recordings which have earned the orchestra a total of 49 awards. On September 7, 2011, the OSM inaugurated its new home, the Maison symphonique de Montréal. The realization of this concert hall was made possible thanks to the Government of Quebec.
