Janine Jansen: Falling for Stradivari

A captivating film about the Dutch musical genius Janine Jansen, and the recording of her unique album with twelve of the most valuable Stradivarius violins in the world. Accompanied by Sir Antonio Pappano, music director of the Royal Opera in London, the film follows Janine from Stockholm, her hometown, to London. During an eventful ten days, she meets the priceless violins, selects the works that suit them best, and learns their stories and weaknesses in order to record the album. This exciting film intimately explores what makes these world-renowned stringed instruments so unique, but also the enormous humour, spark, and energy that drives two of the world’s greatest musicians at the height of their careers
