This season, Laureano Quant makes his European debut as Bill in <\/span>Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny <\/span><\/i>with Staatsoper Stuttgart and sings El Payador in <\/span>Mar\u00eda de Buenos Aires <\/span><\/i>with Madison Opera. He sings his first performances of Schaunard in <\/span>La boh\u00e8me<\/span><\/i> this summer, as a Vocal Fellow with the Ravinia Festival.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago\u2019s Ryan Opera Center, Laureano sang <\/span>Le Danca\u00efre in <\/span>Carmen<\/span><\/i>, Comte de Lerma in <\/span>Don Carlos<\/span><\/i>, and Sta\u0159ek in <\/span>Jen\u016ffa<\/span><\/i>.<\/span> Additional roles include Betto in <\/span>Gianni Schicchi <\/span><\/i>with \u00d3pera de Colombia, as well as Demetrius in <\/span>A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/span><\/i> and Prince Ragonsky in <\/span>Candide<\/span><\/i> with the Orquesta Filarm\u00f3nica de Bogot\u00e0. Alongside the same orchestra in his native country, he has sung Faur\u00e9\u2019s <\/span>Requiem<\/span><\/i> and Bacalov\u2019s <\/span>Missa Tango,<\/span><\/i> and Mozart\u2019s <\/span>Requiem<\/span><\/i> with the Festival de M\u00fasica Sacra de Popay\u00e1n.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laureano Quant obtained a Master of Musical Arts from Yale and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music.<\/span> He received further training at the Merola Opera Program at San Francisco Opera and SongStudio at Carnegie Hall. He obtained a Bachelor of Music, from Pontifica Universidad Javeriana with a double-major in vocal performance and composition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
