Semifinalist<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Katerina Burton is a recent graduate of the Cafritz Young Artist program at Washington National Opera. She made her mainstage debut as Mica\u00ebla in Francesca Zambello\u2019s 2022 production of <\/span>Carmen<\/span><\/i>. That same year, she joined<\/span> the Aspen Music Festival as a Ren\u00e9e Fleming Artist, where she performed the role of Alice Ford in Verdi\u2019s <\/span>Falstaff,<\/span><\/i> opposite Sir Bryn Terfel in the title role.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2024-2025 season includes many role and principal debuts for Katerina Burton, including Mim\u00ec in <\/span>La boh\u00e8me<\/span><\/i> with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Violetta in <\/span>La traviata<\/span><\/i> with Annapolis Opera, and Donna Anna in <\/span>Don Giovanni<\/span><\/i> with Madison Opera. Recent engagements include the Kennedy Center premiere of Adolphus Hailstork\u2019s <\/span>JFK: The Last Speech<\/span><\/i> where Burton served as the soprano soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra. Previously, she performed Mahler\u2019s Symphony No. 4 to much acclaim with the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
