Continuing his series of iconic Verdi debuts, he sings his first Macbeth in a new staging at the Washington National Opera, before reprising Rigoletto at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. After\u202fanother run of <i>Don Carlo<\/i> at Wiener Staatsoper, Etienne stars as Don Giovanni at the Viennese opera house and sings his first Don Pedro in a concert performance\u202fof Donizetti&#8217;s <i>Maria Padilla<\/i> for his debut at the Teatro de la Maestranza of Sevilla. He concludes the season returning to the role of Conte di Luna in <i>Il trovatore<\/i> at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">In the 2023\/24 season, Etienne made a series of role debuts: as Don Carlo di Vargas in <i>La forza del destino<\/i> at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, in the title role of <i>Rigoletto<\/i> in a new production at the Teatro Real Madrid, as Count Karl Gustav in the world premiere of Bilodeau&#8217;s <i>La Reine-gar\u00e7on<\/i> at the Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al, as Paolo Albiani in <i>Simon Boccanegra<\/i> and Sancho Pan\u00e7a in a new production of Massenet&#8217;s <i>Don Quichotte<\/i> at the Op\u00e9ra national de Paris. He also performed Germont in a concert performance of <i>La traviata<\/i>, made his Japan debut as Rigoletto on tour with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in Yokohama and Tokyo and reprised the role of Marcello in <i>La boh\u00e8me<\/i> with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Bravo! Vail Music Festival in Colorado. Other recent performances brought the star baritone to the Paris Op\u00e9ra, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Real of Madrid, San Francisco Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Opernhaus Z\u00fcrich, Op\u00e9ra de Lyon, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-Elys\u00e9es, the Op\u00e9ra de Marseille, and the Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">His discography features a solo album with the string quartet Quator Claudel-Canimex (&#8220;Love Blows as the Wind Blows&#8221; for ATMA Classique), in addition to albums with the Orchestre regional Avignon-Provence (Universal), Sonya Yoncheva&#8217;s &#8220;Paris, mon amour&#8221; (Sony), L\u2019<i>Aiglon<\/i> with Orchestre symphonique de Montr\u00e9al (Decca), among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Born in Montr\u00e9al, Etienne Dupuis completed his vocal studies at McGill University, later joining the Atelier Lyrique de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al. When not travelling the world, Etienne lives in Paris with his wife, the soprano Nicole Car, and their son Noah. Etienne is also an Ambassador of Opera for Peace.
