A Major International competition<\/b><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al brings together the world\u2018s best young artists on one stage. In a thrilling competition, audiences in Montr\u00e9al and around the globe witness extraordinary performances from the new generation of classical musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, the Concours welcomes, in turn, 24 violinists, pianists, and classical singers \u2013 each of whom comes to Montr\u00e9al to measure themselves against their peers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2001 by internationally renowned bass Joseph Rouleau<\/strong>\u00a0(1929-2019) and politician and philanthropist Andr\u00e9 Bourbeau<\/strong>\u00a0(1936-2018), the Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al was born from the desire to offer a prestigious, high-level international competition in Montreal.<\/p>\n

Each year since its first edition in 2002, the Concours brings together exceptional musicians of the new generation. In turn, these young singers, violinists, and pianists measure their talents against their peers.<\/p>\n

The Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.<\/p>\n

A Renowned Competition<\/b><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al is among the world\u2019s most important international classical musical competitions.<\/p>\n

Since its creation in 2001, more than 5,000 young musicians from 90 countries, trained at the world\u2019s leading music schools, have applied to take part in the Concours, in the hope of experiencing this extraordinary human and musical adventure.<\/p>\n

Today, the laureates of the Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al perform on the most prestigious stages around the world.<\/p>\n

Since 2025, the Concours has welcomed a specialist Jury President for each of its three alternating editions, now including Adrianne Pieczonka (Voice), Lucie Robert (Violin), and Angela Cheng (Piano). The Jury President works closely with the Artistic Director. She is also an important advisor, particularly for questions of repertoire.<\/p>\n
