SIX YOUNG PIANISTS, AMONG WHICH TWO CANADIANS,
REACH THE FINALS
OF THE MONTREAL
INTERNATIONAL MUSICAL COMPETITION

Finalists play concerto of choice
with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal

Montreal, May 31, 2014  — The semi-finals of the Montreal International Musical Competition (MIMC) came to a close tonight as the international jury, presided by Mr. André Bourbeau, selected six finalists. Following the Quarter-Final round in which 24 competitors from 15 countries competed at Salle Bourgie between May 26 and 28, twelve semi-finalists took the same stage on May 30 and 31. “While we can only select six for the Finals, I am extremely proud of all our candidates. They are talented and incredibly brave. It takes a lot of determination for them, and in such a short time, to prepare for a Competition of this calibre,” said Christiane LeBlanc, Executive and Artistic Director of the MIMC.
